Spot the look alikes....

Thad and I play the "celebrity look alike" game all the time! We have so much fun! The game is easy, just try and spot everyday people who resemble celebrities. Last night at dinner, the late "Amy Winehouse" seated us and a couple of weekends ago we saw "Charlie Sheen" (young, thin Charlie, not today's Charlie) in the train station, pictured above. Today, see if you can spot some celebrities in your daily activities and Live An Inspired Life!

Visit the pumpkin farm!

As many of you already know, Fall is my FAVORITE time of year! What's not to love?? The cooler weather, beautiful colors, snuggly nights, yummy fall treats and of course the pumpkin farm! I love visiting farms but the pumpkin farm is the best of the year! Today visit your local pumpkin farm and have some fun with the kids carving or painting pumpkins! Those are memories that will be forever cherished and make for an Inspired Life!

Start a business!

Thad and I started a business together! We are now manufacturing rubber stamps right in our home. This is a business I had a couple of years ago but closed when I relocated to Upstate NY. We thought it would be fun to open it back up together, a business that is our own! We turned the website back on, created a facebook page for the business and here we are! The orders have already started to come in and we have plans to grow our business through networking, marketing and with a newly designed website! We are super excited about our new venture! So today, start that business you have always dreamed about and Live An Inspired Life!

I love sending thank you cards, I try to send them often! Most recently I sent one to our family dentist and she was so thrilled, she went on and on about it! Send a thank you today, let someone know that you were touched by their kindness or thank them for good service and Live An Inspired Life!

Don't broadcast negativity

Oh my gosh... beware, a little rant is coming: So today's post is about putting negative and shocking posts or pictures on facebook. There is nothing I dislike more than scanning my home page on facebook and seeing something that is shocking or gruesome. I do not want to see pictures of abused animals, dead babies, death announcements or physically abused children. I also do not want to hear status updates that tell me that you hate your life, your husband is a moron, your lover is a cheater, or that you feel like crap yet again! Those messages are only used to get attention and it promotes drama and disharmony.
Facebook and other public venues are a great way to connect, do business, have fun with friends and more but putting negativity out there reflects badly on you and tends to repel others. So today, vow to end the facebook drama, put on a positive attitude and find something uplifting to post and Live An Inspired Life!

Show those pearly whites!

Visit the dentist, or at least schedule an appointment! Keep your teeth white and clean with fresh healthy breath! Brush 3 times per day, floss and rinse nightly, and visit the dentist at least once per year (although they recommend twice per year.) Your smile is often your first impression maker so keep your pearly whites healthy and clean and Live An Inspired Life!

Do WHAT in the park???

Slow dance in your local park gazebo! Last night Thad and I went to dinner with friends, we arrived early so we walked to the park and saw a gazebo. It was already dark out but the gazebo was lit up and we were the only people there. So Thad took my hand, led me to the center of the gazebo and we slow danced! Thad remarked how we needed music and with fumbling hands behind his back, I found a love song on my ipod and started to play "Moody's Mood for Love" by Elliot Yamin. He thought the music started in the gazebo at first, not realizing it had been me that was playing it. We danced and kissed through the entire song, it was extremely romantic! So today, find a gazebo, or even just a quiet spot somewhere outside and have a slow dance with the one you love and Live An Inspired Life!

Tea time......

There is nothing so special as spending time and chatting over tea! Today, make time for tea with your spouse, child, friend or even just to enjoy alone. My favorite is vanilla caramel tea... yummm! This morning, I am having tea time with my daughter Carrie, she is drinking cinnamon tea and I am enjoying french vanilla. There are so many great teas out there, try one today and Live An Inspired Life!

After your shower......

Today write a message to your lover on the mirror after it has fogged up from your shower! What a sweet surprise they will get the next time they get out of the shower! If you are single, write yourself a positive affirmation, or just make a big smiley face or heart and Live An Inspired Life!

Urban Hiking!

This weekend Thad took me to Poughkeepsie and we did some urban hiking while we were there. We hiked through the city looking for the "Walkway over the Hudson." We hiked through neighborhoods until we found the stairs which led to the bridge. The bridge is 1.2 miles long, we wanted to hike the entire thing but it was nearly closing time so we only got about a third of the way out before the city officials turned us around. It was so much fun to hike through the city! So today, do some urban hiking and Live An Inspired Life!

No room for ENVY.......

There is no room for envy or jealousy in An Inspired Life! Sometimes people will try to hurt you or control you because they are jealous of you or what you have but do not let them get to you! Board Games!!!

Board games are so much fun and it is a great way to get the whole family engaged! We recently discovered "Battle of the Sexes" board game. Our neighbors came over and we had a big 'ol fashioned boys vs girls battle! It was so much fun! So tonight, dust off the board games and have game night with the family or with friends and Live An Inspired Life!

Git er done.....

Oh my gosh, so we all have some project sitting around that just needs to get finished. I know that for me, I will be finishing my class today, or by tomorrow at least. I have been taking an online class and I have 2 assignments left and it is time to get it done! No procrastinations, no more unfinished projects, just do it! (Wow, this post is FULL of cliches! lol) So today, grab the unfinished scarf you started crocheting 3 years ago, or the scrapbook you started when your second child was born or the bag of donations that never got dropped off and Live An Inspired Life!

Renew your vows!

Yesterday we attended the wedding of friends who renewed their vows. They softly spoke their eloquent vows to one another in front of friends and family in a beautiful clearing on their property. The leaves of Autumn were kind enough to turn bright colors for the most beautiful back drop to such a spiritual day. Today, I recommend to everyone that you renew your vows to the person you love. Whether it be a big shin dig with many witnesses or a whisper into your lovers ear, either way, renew your love and Live An Inspired Life!

Take the blame....

Homeschool those kids......

The schools will not teach your children manners, etiquette, morals, entrepreneurship, religion, sociology and many other things that are vitally important to life. Kids need to be schooled at home in these subjects! It is up to us parents to provide the knowledge that kids will need to make it in the "real world." They can learn academics at school, but do not let the school kids teach them their manners or how to be appropriate in public. I can assure you what they learn from the other kids will most likely not serve them well in life.
In my home, we use a dry erase board in the kitchen and each day a new topic or quote or something to start the at home lesson. We also have a homework club after school, we all sit around the table together and do homework. The teens help the younger kids and I am there cooking dinner so I can help and teach them about our daily at home lesson. It is great... the kids usually find ways to joke about the daily lesson and we all laugh about it and it makes the learning fun!
So today when the kids get home from regular school, sit at the table and teach them some real life skills that will be so valuable to them and teach them to Live An Inspired Life!

Steaming hot fresh bread!

Yummm! There is nothing like coming home to a house that smells like fresh bread! Today, dust off the bread machine, or make a loaf by hand and make the house smell wonderful for the kids or spouse coming home! Fresh hot bread makes a warm yummy after school snack or it's just great to go with tonight's dinner. So today, bake a fresh loaf of bread and Live An Inspired Life!

My favorite basic bread recipe:

• 1 cup water
• 2 tablespoons ground flax seed
  
• 2 tablespoons sugar
  
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 3 cups bread flour
• 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast

Add ingredients to bread machine in order, wet first then dry and yeast last. I bake on a light setting, 1.5lb loaf. Enjoy!
