Goat Talk???

After a funny moment this morning in which Mattie accidentally said something with a goat voice, we decided to talk like goats today. lol. "Tha-a-a-at-t-t-t lo-o-o-oks so-oo-o-o-o go-o-o-d" is what Mattie said about the french toast that Thad was making. It was just so funny, so we all started! So today, speak like a goat here and there and Live An Inspired Life!

ANGRY BIRDS?!?!?!?!

WOW! I am enamoured with this silly little game called Angry Birds. It is so much fun! I downloaded the app on my iPhone and now I can play when I am sitting around with nothing to do, (which when you live An Inspired Life is not very often...) It is actually pretty fun and relaxing to just play a mindless game sometimes while you are waiting for something or someone. So try a video game app, try one that challenges your brain like a puzzle or something. Studies have shown that playing these types of games keeps your brain young and can reduce the risk of alzheimers! Have fun and Live An Inspired Life!

Funny Face!

It is fun to make faces! Make a funny face today at your co-worker, or your kid, at a random stranger or just in the mirror to yourself! Have some fun.... see how silly you can be and Live An Inspired Life!

Random Movements

You know how kids will be walking along, minding their own business and randomly jump in the air, or spin around, or do a quick John Travolta Stayin Alive type move and then continue on like nothing happened. Kids are awesome, they are so unrestrained and they really know how to enjoy life! So today, let's just have some weird and random physical movements that can be fun and very freeing! Bust out a Stayin Alive arm in the air, or a Michael Jackson leg kick and Live An Inspired Life!

Pedicure day!

I love getting pedicures! It feels wonderful and I am a firm believer in having tidy toe nails. I have had my toe nails painted for at least the last 25 years. I refuse to go without polish. Sandal season is upon us and there is nothing worse than sandal feet with gnarly toes poking out. So today, head to the salon and get a nice relaxing pedicure, polish up those toes and Live An Inspired Life!

Go to the park!

Ithaca is loaded with amazing parks and natural gorges, we are lucky to have so many beautiful spots to go to! Today I am bringing the kids to Buttermilk Falls (pictured above) to play at the park. They have a big playground there with lots of open space to run and play. So today... find a local park or playground in your area and bring the kids. Or if you have no kids, just recapture your youth and bring yourself! Remember how much fun the swings were?? Have fun and Live An Inspired Life!

Climb a tree!

I am so happy the weather is finally starting to warm up! I can't seem to get enough outdoor time. So today.... get in touch with nature and climb a tree! Ok, it doesn't have to be a huge tree, a small tree is fine, but climb a tree and commune with nature, enjoy the warmth and Live An Inspired Life!

Holy Cheese and Crackers!

A couple of nights ago Thad and I had cheese and crackers and wine after we tucked in the kids. It was so nice to just sit and relax and enjoy some delicious food and wine. The italian herb crackers and cheeses were paired perfectly with the local white wine. It was a delicious treat! So tonight, tuck in the kids and break out the wine..... and enjoy An Inspired Life!

Power Walk!

I am so happy the weather was warmer today! This morning I did a one mile power walk before school started. I am going to be walking the students that want to each morning before classes begin. My goal is 2 miles per day before school and then another two throughout the day. It is a great way to get some exercise, socialize and to Live An Inspired Life!

So today I am home with my 9 year old Carrie who has an upset tummy. I thought I would take this day to remind everyone of the importance of health and wellness. Cleaning Day!

Today is cleaning day in our house! It's relatively warm, the snow has somewhat melted, time to get a jump on the Spring cleaning! We are going to crack some windows open, let the fresh air in, kick the dogs out and get some scrubbing done! A clean fresh house is all part of An Inspired healthy and clean Life!

Gentleness....

Long ago, the Wind and Sun were having an argument about who was stronger. They decided to have a contest.

“Do you see that man walking along the road, wearing a cloak?” asked the Sun.

“Yes,” answered the wind.

“Let’s see who can make him take off his cloak,” said the Sun.

So the Wind and Sun agreed.

First, the Wind tried. It began to blow. It blew harder and harder. But the more it blew, the tighter the man wrapped himself in his cloak.

Finally, the Wind said to the Sun, “I give up. You try.”

The Sun began to smile warmly at the man. The man began to feel the warmth of the sun. The sun got brighter and brighter. The man felt warmer and warmer. Soon the man was sweating as he walked along the road. Feeling hot and tired, he sat down on a big rock and threw off his cloak.

Lesson: Gentleness can do what force cannot.

Today we shall give thanks! Send praise or thanks to someone today. Maybe a little note in the mailbox thanking the mailman, or a sweet note to your love thanking him for dinner, or even a thank you to your kid for doing the dishes. Whatever the reason, let someone know that you are thankful today and Live An Inspired Life!

Apples to Oranges.....

I believe in competing with oneself rather than others. You will never know what it is to walk in an other persons shoes so don't compare yourself to others or what others have. Be your own advocate, set your own goals, live for your own ideals, dedicate yourself to your own future and love whole heartily without worrying about what people think! You cannot compare apples to oranges and you cannot compare one person to another. All people are different, accept it, love it and Live An Inspired Life!

Snow Day!!!

We have a snow day today! Yay!!! So today I am going to spend some quality time with the kids and then head out to do a little snowy shopping with my fiance. I love unexpected days off and I plan to enjoy it! So today... snow day or not, do something unexpected with the kids, maybe build a snowman or go visit grandma and Live An Inspired Life!

Grandma's Recipe....

Remember the cookies that Grandma made? Oh how I love using my Mom and my Grandmothers recipes, they remind me of them and I love baking family recipes for the kids!

Today I baked one of my fiance's favorite family recipes: White Chocolate Cookie Bars. The kids were all very excited with anticipation while I was baking and the smell of vanilla and white chocolate flooded the house with warmth and good feelings.

Time to be spoiled.....

My fiance is amazing and he spoils me all of the time! Tonight is my turn! I made reservations at a local place that I have been dying to try called the Hazelnut Kitchen. They have a menu that changes monthly based on what is in season and all their dishes are gourmet and organic. Thad and I were both very excited about the March menu. Yumm!

Compliment a Woman....

In honor of Women's History Month go and put random post it notes with uplifting messages on them in the ladies room. Write things like "you are beautiful" or "your smile warms someones heart!". Every woman, confident or not, could use encouragement and positive words! So today... boost a woman's spirit and put some brightly colored sticky notes with positive affirmations on the ladies room mirror and Live An Inspired Life!

Say Cheese........

Take a great picture and use it as your head shot! There will be NO "insert pic here" boxes in An Inspired Life! Put your picture on your facebook account, add it to your blog or to your business cards! Go outside and take a great picture... natural outdoor lighting makes everyone look amazing! Head out to the backyard and pose with your favorite tree, or go to the local park, maybe a waterfall or gorge in the background. With all the great cameras that available, there is no reason to ever not have a fabulous picture of yourself.

Go to a museum!

With a huge fascination for the cosmos, the Planetarium is one of my all time favorite places to go! I love to look at the stars, planets and the milky way! So today, or in the near future, visit a museum or planetarium or something of the sort. Learn something new and Live An Inspired Life! **Incidentally, the most romantic moment of my entire life was when my fiance proposed to me in the Planetarium!**
